General info:
A current Burlington Art Centre (BAC) membership is required before joining the Burlington Potters’ Guild. The Guild’s annual membership fee is due annually on January 1st and is valid until December 31st. A late penalty charge applies to renewal memberships after January 31st. Fees are $35.00 for a single membership and $40.00 for a family membership. Members must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
Benefits:

- monthly meetings and presentations by guest artists
- participation in workshops arranged by the Guild
- participation in exhibitions, sales and activities sponsored by the Guild
- use of the Pottery Studio and equipment according to the rules in the Pottery Studio Guidelines
- a copy of the Guild Handbook
- Guild newsletters (10 issues per year)
- use of the Guild display cases for exhibiting work
- membership advantages of the BAC (reciprocal agreements with other art galleries and museums, etc.)
- the opportunity to voice opinions and be influential through different committees and volunteer groups
- advance notice of classes, whenever possible, sponsored by the BAC
- access to locker or shelf for storage
- group firings
The studio may be used when the Art Centre is open and there are no classes. Guild members may use the Pottery Studio during regular BAC hours in accordance with the calendar of events supplied in the BPG monthly newsletter. Guild Day is every Tuesday.
Studio Equipment:
Members are entitled to use the equipment in the studio with proper training and adherence to safety:
- Pottery Wheels
- Electric Kiln
- Raku Kiln/Raku Glazes
- Gas Kiln
The Library is available to all guild members. We have a wide selection of books and videos that may be loaned for up to one month.
Display Cases:
There are two display cases in the hallway opposite the Clay Studio. These give artists the opportunity to show their work.
All Members are obligated to:
- Volunteer 20 hours per year for guild activities (ie: sales, studio clean up, organization of juried guild show, member of the Guild Executive, fulfilling non-executive positions, etc.)
- Volunteer 10 hours per year for Burlington Art Centre activities
- and events (ie: Art Auction, docents, Soup Bowl Event, etc.)
- Promote the Guild through sales, guild activities, BAC Open House and other events held by the BAC
